Additional Projects
Main reoccurring projects that each fall within one of the six pillars of service that are close to our heart include...
Pulsera Project
The Pulsera Project provides employment to nearly 200 artists from Nicaragua and Guatemala, selling their artwork in U.S. schools. Profits from pulsera sales are then channeled into various programs supporting the artists, their communities, and organizations. Every semester, our sorority sets up a table in the MSC to sell pulseras, with proceeds going towards supporting communities in Nicaragua and Guatemala.
Self Defense Classes
Empowering our members with essential life skills is important to our sorority. Once a year, we offers a self-defense class for our members. Through these classes, sisters gain confidence, resilience, and practical techniques to protect themselves. In the past, we have also provided our members with CPR training.
More Love Letters
This project aims to spread kindness and support to strangers through handwritten letters. These letters are then distributed to individuals in need, whether they are going through a difficult time, facing illness, or simply in need of encouragement. Every month, members write letters to different individuals, hoping to uplift spirits, offer encouragement, and remind people that they are not alone.
Brazos Valley Food Bank
The Brazos Valley Food Bank is committed to addressing hunger in the Brazos Valley region of Texas. With a focus on food distribution and educational initiatives, the Brazos Valley Food Bank strives to combat hunger and promote food security for all members of the community. Each month, our members serve this community whether it is through donations or volunteering at the warehouse.
Nursing Homes
Recently, we have begun to partner with other men organizations around campus to volunteer at nursing homes around the College Station/Bryan area. Several times a semester, our members will play BINGO with the nursing home residents in hopes to uplift their spirits and provide companionship.
Campus Cleanups
Once a month, our members come together to help clean up a specific area on campus. This demonstrates a strong dedication and commitment to giving back to our local community. This project fulfills the university community pillar.
